They are also known as a firefox (just like the web browser). Just like their black and white cousins, the Giant Panda, they looove bamboo.


They are only about as big as a house cat. And see that big bushy tail? When it's cold outside, they use it as their own personal blanket. There are only 2,500 mature ones in the world, scattered through Nepal, Burma and China.

Despite their radical difference in size, these two dogs have something in common - Gibson the Great Dane and Boo Boo the toy Chihuahua are both world record holders.

Measuring a whopping 107cm, gentle giant Gibson was named tallest dog back in 2004. Joining him in the hall of fame for 2007 is tiny Boo Boo who only measures 10.16cm tall and is smaller than Gibson's head.

The two celebrity hounds, who were both bred in America, met up to celebrate Guinness World Records Day 2007 outside the White House in Washington D.C.

Boo Boo's owner Lana Elswick has bred Chihuahuas in Kentucky for 19 years and said she always knew her one-year-old pooch was special.

The tiny mutt was only about the size of a thumb when she was born; so small, in fact, that she had to be fed with an eye dropper every two hours before she could eventually nurse a bottle. Now she is a diminuitive diva.

"She has the attitude of a big dog she would let me know if anyone was around and she would try to guard me if she could," said Ms Elswick.

Owner Sandy Hall lives with her dog Gibson in Sacramento, California. The Great Dane is also the world's tallest therapy dog and regularly visits children's hospitals.

"He just puts a smile on people's faces," Ms Hall said.

"In one split second, people forget their cares and worries."

MAC Computer:
1. Make sure your messy EcoBuddies room is on your screen
2. Press command and shift and 3 at the same time (this will copy a picture of your screen to destination file on your computer)
3. Find the picture in your destination file (my destination file is on my desktop)

HA! FUNNIEST CONTEST EVER!

Ha!!! Some Buddies have been emailing me to let me know that a Buddy named Champ has the messiest house in EcoBuddies (see picture above). So, EcoBuddies is now going to have THE MESSIEST HOUSE IN ECOBUDDIES CONTEST. LOL!

Please email me screenshots of your EcoBuddies messy house to moderator@ecobuddies.com and I will choose the messiest house as a winner on June 15, 2009! THE BEST MEMBERSHIP RIGHT NOW

Someone asked me what the best membership to get is right now. I really like the six month membership because it is the most cost effective, as it saves you about 2-3 dollars per month. This is like a magic trick I think, as it is so inexpensive!

WOW! PARTY ON BUDDIES!

I am so excited! I have heard there are lots of parties going on in EcoBuddies! I was walking through EcoBuddies today and I came across a party of fifty Buddies jumping around the Surf Shack looking as funny as ever- some were huge, some were tiny, some were EVEN invisible! How can this be? I am so amazed!

Like magic, these partying Buddies got 100 coins each because I was SO impressed with their dancing and party abilities! I think maybe I will give away more coins during parties. What do you think?

Did you know we have a party button at the top of our game screen, right beside the place where you can change costumes? I use this to have SUPER CRAZY parties with lots of balloons and streamers.

Also, I am still waiting for some submissions of Buddies in crazy HUGE costumes. I need a laugh today, so can you guys pleasssse send me some funny screenshots?

By the way, my magic trick went splendidly during my performance with Chief Tiki. Although in the middle of my trick, the bunny I was about to pull out of my top hat ran away and drank some pineapple juice from the surf shack. He then, of course, went invisible and I LOST him. Thankfully I found him at the pier on Tiki Islands- BUT check this out! When I got to the pier this boat was there (see picture above). How mysterious! Where do you think this boat is from and where do you think it is going? Let me know your thoughts!

GAH! Giant Juice! And a Soccer Hero!

WOW! I just saw the craziest thing. I was at the beach in the Tiki Islands and suddenly two HUGE Buddies appeared out of nowhere- one was in a crab costume and the other in a windmill costume- and they were bigger that even the surf shop. They told me the watermelon juice did this! WOWOWOW! I wonder what a HUGE hotdog looks like or a HUGE Buddy in a sportscar. If anyone can send me a screenshot of their Buddy looking funny in a HUGE costume I would be so grateful because other than doing magic tricks I like to laugh and laugh. ALSO, did you hear? A player kicked the soccer ball near Rosa's wagon one hundred and four times!!! How can this be? Do we have that amazing British soccer player on our site? I am truly amazed!

Another cool poem!

My hamster was always there, Eating and playing with out a care. Soft and warm he always was, A small, fat ball of fuzz. All night he would nibble and run, He always had a lot of fun. I always loved to see his tiny face, Running in his wheel as if it were a race. My hamster started getting old. One day his tiny body was cold. I dug very far down, And placed his body in the ground. Now he is no longer here. I miss that little hamster that I loved dear. Someday we will meet again. I will miss him until then.

I love my ecobuddie; but he can get really muddy. He has a little frown, but he’s still nice and brown. He hates to cry over a piece of pie. He likes parties were there’s lot’s and lot’s of smarties. He can eat a pickle but then he complains that he feels a big tickle. He likes to tell fibs and he still sucks on bibs!!! My hammy plants flowers but he takes hours. He likes my heater and that’s the story of my seedeater!

An Ode to Ned

The wind blows silently, through the hamster's fur,
The hamster moves an inch, then runs and becomes a blur.
Out of fear, the hamster ducks and dodges through the grass,
And behind the hamster, all he leaves are tiny paw marks.

In the background, the hamster can hear breathing sounds,
The hamster doesn't dare turn around, For behind him, a monster will be found.
Slowly but surely, the hamster tilts his head,
And staring from behind him is his owner, Ned.

Ned puts his hand out, and grabs the hamster by the waist,
Ned lifts the hamster up high, up high to his face.
Ned explains to the hamster to never do that again,
If you escape from your cage, then I'll lose you as my friend.

Hi EcoBuddies community!

The mighty Baboon!

Did you know that there are five different species of baboon and four of them live in the savanna, dry areas in both Africa and Arabia.

Baboons lack that ability to grip things with their tails, but they still climb trees sometimes to avoid predators.

Baboons eat birds, rodents, and even the young of larger mammals, such as antelopes and sheep.

Baboons live in groups that can range from a dozen members to over one hundred.

December CONTESTS and FUN!

TAG ON WEDNESDAYS AT 8PM
Hippopotamus got a very bad cold and was not able to make it to the last two tag games. I am sure you were still able to have great fun though, especially in the snowy winding woods.

Good news though! Hippo is better and VERY excited to play tag this Wednesday and the rest of the Wednesdays coming up this month. He also likes playing hide and go seek... and giving out COINS. Meet Hippo in the winding woods at 8pm every Wednesday to play some games! Shamzam!!!!

HIDE AND SEEK WITH HOLIDAY HOBNOBS, MONDAYS AT 8PM
Last month the Halloween Howler gave coins to Buddies every Friday who had brought new friends to EcoBuddies. The Halloween Howler, who changed his name to Holiday HobNobs just last week, will now be meeting Buddies on MONDAYS at 8pm. The catch is, Holiday Hobnobs will be hiding, so you have to find him in order to win coins and you ALSO have to bring a friend who is new to EcoBuddies (never been on the site). I heard he was a little relaxed with this rule last month, but this month you have to bring a friend who is new to EcoBuddies to win coins.

New Clues for the Scavenger Hunt and Contest on Friday Details!

Hi Buddies,

As you know, we are currently holding a scavenger hunt during the month of November. Last Sunday we gave you the first five items to find in the EcoBuddies world and now here are the next set of clues to find:

1. A Seahorse
2. A Magician's Wand and Hat
3. A lava lamp
4. A Gray Ladder
5. A Calendar

Make sure you compile a list of where these items can be found. There are two more sets of clues coming out over the following two Sundays so don't send in your answers until you have the full list of clues and their answers from all four Sundays in November (Nov. 2, 9,16, and 23)!

When you have the answers to all the clues then email them to the moderator before November the 30th! Happy Hunting!

November's Animal of the Month! The Hedgehog!

Did you know that hedgehogs mostly live in Britain and in Africa? They are nocturnal, which means that they sleep during the day and forage at night. Most hedgehogs are solitary and spend their whole lives within a few hundred feet of their burrows. Hedgehogs roll into a ball and stick out their spikey quills for protection. When agitated, hedgehogs will even jump and make clicking or huffing noises to ward off predators. Hedgehogs are insectivors and eat mostly bugs and grubs that they find with their keen sense of smell.
